Ah ma, the retired matriarch of the household and truly the one who started it all. A street hawker who peddled her delicious Nonya Kueh and glutinous rice in the Tiong Bahru vicinity in the 1940s before setting up shop in Seng Poh Road Market in 1950. Now happily retired, Mdm Chia has passed down all her treasured recipes to her son and daughter-in-law, Harry and Ann who have succeeded her business.
The second generation owners of the business and successors of Mdm Chia, Harry and Ann are currently still very active in serving customers in the flagship outlet at Seng Poh Road Market. They still practice Grandma’s tradition of hand-making all their kueh in the kitchen daily, using the freshest ingredients and enjoy chatting with their regular customers at the market whilst serving them.
Since he was very young, Alan had spent many weekends and school holidays helping his parents at the stall at Seng Poh Road Market. In 2013 and after working in the private sector for more than 2 decades, he quit his cushy job as the General Manager of a large security corporation and took over the family business in order to steer it to greater heights. The brains (and brawn sometimes) behind all our operations, Alan is constantly thinking of ways to improve our systems and service.
Sharon, wife of Alan is the ever-friendly and sincere Front-of-House. She is the epitome of HarriAnns vitality and personality. Find her at the café at Bugis Junction to get your daily doze of warm fuzzy service. The former English and Literature teacher is also in-charge of all the copywriting jobs pertaining to the business.
Sharon, daughter of Harry and Ann, is passionate in sourcing for high quality ingredients to be used in HarriAnns’ food. She is also constantly on the lookout for new trends and special ingredients to be incorporated into our age-old recipes. Often, she will post photograph updates on the Facebook or Instagram to update our customers of our new products and promotions.
Our most recent addition to our warm family. Oscar is an extremely talented chef who has headed many teams during his career in numerous five to six star hotels.
